Did you guys ever get a NugetServer (or OrchardServer) working? I'm running into the same problems and there doesn't seem to be clear guidance on what the best process is for running a gallery for Orchard.

I'm interested in setting up an Orchard Gallery feed on our company intranet.

From what I can tell, it has been impossible to clone and build GalleryServer since at least June of last year because the Nuget plugin's subrepo isn't there.

This project hasn't been touched in almost 2 years. Is this ever going to be fixed or should I try to find an alternative way to distribute internal modules / themes?

I have been running into this problem as well. Does anyone know where I can get the nuget files myself? I'm not sure which version of Nuget is needed.

The sub-repo for Nuget is now a git repo. The .hgsub will always return a 404 now.

Hi,

I have a working instance of Gallery Server, I can hit the /FeedService.svc/Packages url and I receive an empty RSS feed as I would expect. I want to be able to push my NuGet packages to this service from TeamCity.

I note that the readme.txt file explains

In order to upload and update packages, a REST API is provided using the WCF 4 WebHttp Services. Most of the methods in the REST API take in a string "key" parameter as a means of authenticating that the caller has the rights to make the requested update. Each of the methods that take the key will first call back to an endpoint (configurable in the AppSettings.config file) to validate the call.

Cool. I guess that the url I want to PUT to is /FeedService.svc/Packages/{key}/{id}/{version} ?

Can I do this with the NuGet console app?

I'm trying:
nuget push Orchard.Module.SomeModule.nupkg SomeKey -source http://localhost/GalleryServer/FeedService.svc/Packages/SomeKeyBase64Encoded/ModuleId/1.0.0.0

I'm receiving a (400) Bad Request in response.

I'm sure I'm doing a dozen things wrong here so any help getting this working would be greatly appreciated...

Hi there,

I have followed the steps in the readme.txt and have a working instance of Gallery Server on my machine. I have copied a nuget package generated from an Orchard build using the FastPackage option to the /App_Data/Packages folder within the website. I then expected to see the package listed at the /FeedService.svc/Packages url, but the feed is empty.

Would love to know what I've missed to get this working, thanks.

The mercurial repository url in the Source Code tab is incorrect, it should be https://hg01.codeplex.com/galleryserver rather than https://hg.codeplex.com/galleryserver.

Yes, Gallery Server is a separate site. You can get the code from galleryserver.codeplex.com. There is a short ReadMe file included that might help a little with getting it setup, but if you have any issues with that feel free to post to the discussions over there for help. The server and Orchard Gallery website were intentionally developed as separate apps. If you just want to have your own nuget server and feed to use with the VS tools or with nuget.exe, all you really need is Gallery Server.

I installed the Orchard Gallery on a dedicated server , to be setup as a Nuget repository server. However, how exactly do I setup Gallery Server? Is this another IIS site? I am trying to do something as described here:

.Net -> The current official repository.

Imagine if do this for

C++, JavaScript, PHP, etc based projects.

How did you obtain the source? The GalleryServer repository contains a subrepository for the NuGet source. If you clone GalleryServer, it should also pull the NuGet source. If it doesn't try issuing an hg pull command. You should then find the NuGet source code in Plugins/src/External. The Plugins solution directly includes the Core project from the NuGet solution, so when ClickToBuild executes the build for the Plugins solution it should also build the NuGet Core project.

Hello,

I tried to install a Gallery Server instance from the last available sources. As rtur as pointed it, nuget libs are missing. As a consequence, none of the *build*.bat files successfully execute.

I have finally added the nuget files manually. But is this normal ? If yes, maybe you should update the readme.txt

Moving nuget dlls from the plugins directory fixed this issue. Getting closer - now it is bombing in the PackageAuthenticator.Verify method. I can see temp file created, but verification is failing and turning authenticate request off in config doesn't seem to help. Will try to debug tomorrow.

I'm trying to upload package to GalleryServer I set up. As a test case, I pulled "elmah" package to local VS and used elmah.1.1.nupkg to submit to new empty gallery. Getting this error about IPackageFactory, tried it both on local and remote servers with same result. Am I doing something wrong?

Glad to hear you got it working. We have not tried Web Deploy yet, but it's good to know that it works. We just manually deployed the site when we launched it. A better deployment story is something that is planned for the future though.

Ok, here is what worked in the end:

1. Web deploy from WebMatrix to supported host. Still was getting security exceptions.

2. Set full trust in web.config. Most hosts won't let you, so I guess I got lucky here. Still was getting error, this time from activator complaining about multiple authentication methods enabled.

3. In IIS under site's authentication, left only "anonymous" (it also had basic enabled).

After these steps, all seems to work fine.

iis 7 .net 4 integrated full trust (internal). Do you have any suggestions on deploying it outside VS? xcopy? webdeploy? Do I need make any configuration changes? It seems to have a whole lot of "localhost" references. Xcopy definitely did not work for me on two different host servers, will try webdeploy now.

I've never seen that exception before. We do use AutoMapper in the Gallery Server code, which obviously uses reflection, but I don't think you should be getting that if you're running in full trust. Do you have your IIS app pool running ASP.Net 4.0 or 2.0? (It should be 4.0)
